The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust are one of the biggest and busiest NHS Trusts in the country, serving the one million residents of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland – and increasingly specialist services over a much wider area.

The Trust have been on a tremendous Improvement journey in recent years. With significant local and national support, the Trust are part of the Recovery Support Programme and has made a 20% investment in the Finance team, investing in training and development, improving the culture and creating an environment that's positive and supportive, and bolstering resources to ensure it is well sourced and supported to deliver a best in class finance function.

As such they are now looking to appoint a Head of Financial Management – Income (8a), to deliver and analyse wide-ranging aspects of financial monitoring with a focus on Trust wide monitoring and reporting of income. This will include, but not limited to, income from Integrated Care Systems, contract variation income, Specialised services income and Health Education England income. They will provide financial reports and forecasts reflecting the performance of the Trust and will highlight remedial action where appropriate. The information they provide will also form the basis of external reporting to NHSE/I.

The Head of Financial Management – Income will be responsible for introducing, adapting and improving systems and processes to support financial performance management of the Trust. They will implement and develop performance management techniques and support managers in having access to financial and non-financial business intelligence through the development of performance information. They will provide financial support to all Trust CMGs and Corporate directorates and will ensure financial input into projects, business plans and planning through close and effective collaborative working relationships.
