The University Hospitals of Leicester NHS Trust are one of the biggest and busiest NHS Trusts in the country, serving the one million residents of Leicester, Leicestershire and Rutland – and increasingly specialist services over a much wider area.
The Trust have been on a tremendous Improvement journey in recent years. With significant local and national support, the Trust are part of the Recovery Support Programme and has made a 20% investment in the Finance team, investing in training and development, improving the culture and creating an environment that's positive and supportive, and bolstering resources to ensure it is well sourced and supported to deliver a best in class finance function.
As such they are now looking to appoint four Group Heads of Financial Management (8c) in newly created roles, to be responsible for ensuring a robust, high performing and sustainable financial performance function is delivered to the Trust for the Operational Area within the post holder’s portfolio, supporting the day-to-day financial management needs of the organisation. This covers all areas of income and expenditure.
The Group Head of Financial Management will manage core financial management activities across their Operational Area within the Trust and ensure that the Trust meets its duties in these areas. This will involve overseeing the budget setting process and monthly financial performance including triangulating with other performance indicators in order to report coherently on financial performance.
